CASP contact distances
The CASP contacts include distances between specific hydrogens (usually the backbone amides of two residues), whereas the Contact Filter measures distances between the beta-carbons of two residues.
For the most part, we expect these two different measurements to yield similar results, but there may be small inconsistencies.
For targets with fewer contacts, we may be able to use the specific hydrogen-hydrogen constraints provided by CASP.
The contacts given by the casp organizers have maximum distances - are the distances used by foldit similar to these, or are some of the casp contacts further apart than what foldit requires?
