Currently unable to share solutions.
My client with the green dot by Notifications was last restarted 4/25/14 749pm.
My client with the red dot by Notifications and no Chat was last restarted 4/25/14 825am.
My client with the red dot by Notifications and working Foldit Chat was last restarted 4/22/14 521am.

I was right about the 2 years ;-)
and at least we didn't forget to pay our bills this time :-P
We made sure to renew it early this time, but for some reason the Windows one had issues (which didn't happen 2 years ago).
We should AGAIN be good for the next 2 years, and hopefully not have any issues next time.

An updated Windows client has been posted to the site. The latest update had a fix for the SSL error but clients were failing to update due to the new SSL certificate.

You can fix a client that isn't connecting by copying four files and directories from a working client or a new installation in a different location. This approach avoids wiping the all.macro (cookbook file) and game history.
I still can't connect to a game client. What is the management doing about this? And are all the deadlines for the puzzles going to be extended by at least two days, since I haven't been able to play since before the weekend?
The management has said you will have to install the software again. The players have said, don't install it in the same place as your current one, or you will lose your history. Install it in a new location, and copy the files and directories LociOiling has listed from the new location into the old location. Then you will be able to run the game from the old location and still have your game history, cookbook etc. It's kind of a stinky solution, but it's the one that's available.
extending the puzzles one day out just gives the people who had no problems even more time to grind, copy, evolve etc. Just saying.
I have clients running on 3 different machines. One client has Foldit Chat working but a red dot by Notifications. A second has a green dot by Notifications. A third has a red dot by Notifications.
