Given the astonishing backbone score of seg 2 in Puzzle 874 @ ~501 it may be useful for us to understand what a reasonable backbone score is - something to aim for in 'general' puzzles.
Usually in my experience backbone scores are below 50?

The backbone score in the second residue of Puzzle 874 is artificially high. We included this static bonus so that players would be able to automatically evolve solutions loaded from a previous puzzle. We're working on another way to do this that does not affect the residue backbone score, so this is unlikely to happen again in the future.

Apologies for the confusion!
