Helices are not rebuilding well, if at all.

Many vets have commented on this in chat since the new client was pushed yesterday. Especially in the hand build denovo puzzle, even if you are aware that you now need to disable cut bands, helices are not forming well at all. They are showing a tendency to either look like a spring that has been stretched, or just a mashup.

The last update to NC seemed to have fixed that issue, but the Main/devprev clients now almost appear to have reverted back to an earlier version in how rebuild is acting, especially with helices.

Please see the latest comment in this feedback for more rebuild issues: http://fold.it/portal/node/996667

Yes, tried manual rebuilds of helices for a few hours, waste of time even on small ones. It now seems to be necessary to cut either side of the helix to produce anything. Even then they were 'wrong', so had to use straighten tool. Straighten is not helpful for small pairs of helixes. Rebuild used to find better poses.
Also if you want to change the helix secondary structure slightly and retry the rebuild you are limited by the cuts especially if the loop is short.

Idealize helps once you have a general shape, actually

Yep. It compacts it nicely.
