When newchapter becomes official for the main version of Foldit, what will happen to puzzles and contests that started before the change but are scheduled to end after the change? Will their scores and rankings suddenly all change? Will you only be able to play old puzzles and contests with old pre-newchapter Foldit clients? Will all puzzles and contests end when newchapter starts? Just curious. Thanks.

I guess we'll know the answers pretty soon.

We're going to close all the science puzzles and post new ones. We'll have to leave contests open and let the players who created them close them if they want; loading in old solutions may score differently than they did before. Old scores and rankings won't change.

In puzzle 836, for example, will we be able to load our solutions for 836 into 836's Newchapter replacement puzzle?

I'm very unhappy with the way puzzle 836 was handled. I spent many hours working and reworking that puzzle and did not know it had expired until several hours after the fact. Had I known that it was going to expire two days earlier than scheduled, I would have spent the wasted hours doing something more productive.

Will a new version of 836 be posted? Will we be able to load our solutions from 836 into it?
