Hallo!

Wiggling is stopping for a long time now. It happened twice. I'm running devprev with the last update on a windoof 7 Home Premium, Intel Core i5-2300 2,8 GHz, 6 GB RAM system. Only one client.

I wiggled, added a band, removed it, and would stop wiggling...it's still stopping. Everything else is working, chat, screenshot ... i can do save and exit the right way!
I attached a sreenshot and the log-file.

I had this problem too in the new devprev, Win 7. A script was doing WiggleSelected when I hit the cancel button, the top left circle changed to "stopping", and ten minutes later it had still not finished stopping. Had to shut down the client normally.

Same problem here on Win 7. If this weren't limited to devprev, it's probably a Priority 2 (or even 1) bug because not being able to stop wiggle without restarting the program is practically game-breaking...

changing priority high since it IS game breaking other than doing manual work.

Thank you for reporting this.

It only occurs in the newest devprev update?
Does it ever occur in main?
Has anyone run into this not using Windows 7?

Hopefully we can try to figure out what is going on soon!

I've been running two clients more than 24 hours on Win XP without having an issue.

Looks like Seth found the problem... hopefully we'll have a fix for it posted soon.

Thanks again for catching this (it would have been an nasty bug had this made it to main!).

strangely, if you have a band attached anywhere on the protein, this bug no longer presents itself. idk if this helps find the problem, but at least you know.

628 is giving me fits over this issue and not with just trying to stop/end the recipe either. It seems on some puzzles such as with 628 in my case ( all 628 folder/clients ), it will not pass through the WiggleSelected using Devprev Win7, however on puzzle 629 and using exact same recipe, it seems to be working okay at least and possibly normally

We hope to have an update to devprev posted for this later today.
Thanks for your patience!

Why would you post another puzzle without taking care of this update for devprev yet? Isn't the update more important than posting more puzzles that those of us in devprev may not be able to work?

I have tremendous patience, but, I'm astounded another puzzle came out before the fix. Please post the fix asap. TIA

This update has been resolved in the most recent update: http://fold.it/portal/node/993504
There was no delay in posting the update because of the new puzzle, as the puzzle was ready to go before the bug was even fixed (as it was scheduled to replace Puzzle 627).

You can always switch from devprev to main if there is a bug that is too severe to play with (as this nasty one was).

Again, thank you for catching it so quickly... we really did try to fix it and post the update as fast as we could!

Newest update to Devprev is working for 628, still taking considerable time to process the instruction, but at least it's moving. I will blame the considerable time taken on the # of clients running for the time being. Issue wasted at least a day of my computer's time on each and every client involved. Thanks folks for the fix.
