Hello all,

I'm new to actually playing FoldIt, but have known about it for over a year now. This is also a duplicate of my message that I accidentally placed on the forum. Anyway, I've just recently finished the tutorial levels, and so when I tried to open any of the science levels, they would open and run for a short amount of time before crashing. Sometimes I wasn't touching anything before it crashed; other times I had just finished sending a message in global chat, and only one time did it crash from me actually manipulating the proteins.

Here are the most recent lines from the log:

--------
SRVR_THRD sending: 438444 602 group_score
SRVR_THRD error: Invalid puzzle (/Users/jflat06/foldit/mini-interactive-main/rosetta_source/xcode/../src/game/application/novice/boinc/Boinc.cc:416)

I haven't seen many recent messages on the forum or in feedback about this after doing a site search, so I'm not sure whether this is caused by something new.

Here's my computer specs:
-Macbook Pro with OSX Lion ver. 10.7.1
-Intel i7 processor (2.2 GHz quadcore)
-Radeon Graphics Card (6750M)

Thanks,
Selenaut

This player was trying to communicate in global -

But was crashing so frequently and quickly that conversation was difficult. The crashing was within a minute or 2 after loading, from what we could see.

Which puzzle is this happening on?

Basically any of the science levels, although I did randomly crash on the tutorial levels after I had completed them all. Also, I downloaded the client and completed all of the tutorial levels today, and can't get any of the science levels to last for more than two minutes at a time.

Selenaut, has this been solved for you, can't talk about Mac O/S any, but will state in the case of a single active client, wifi/internet issues will invariably create disconnects, and often what appears to be a client crash also. Recommend not using IRC active clients except and I mean only except as a means to communicate on #global but not as use for playing the puzzles. Recommend non-active clients for playing puzzles, much more stable. Far better then an active client to #global, and the various issues that occur as a result, is the use of a external IRC client, not the one built into the Foldit client. Assuming you are having wifi/internet issues, you will see the same on the external client, although it might appear far less severe, as the clients tend to take a lot of BW to work well, i.e. getting server updates, recipes, and staying updated on the solo and evo listings.
