Would it be possible to allow users to lock sections of a normal puzzle, by which I mean make them into the greyed out sections that we see in design puzzles ? There is a massive benefit to the player, as it would then be possible to make bands that terminate in free space which pull sections of the protein around without the other sections moving.

The current ability to freeze sections of a puzzle does not have the same effect because the frozen sections, whilst remaining structurally intact, can still move in space relative to other sections of the protein, whereas the locked out grey sections are both structurally locked and also locked in space.

Since the programme already contains all the code to lock out sections of the proteins, I would guess that this would be relatively simple to implement and massively useful.

An additional comment - this effectively also provides another long requested function, which is the ability to work on just one section of a protein.
