Ok, I am new, so I want to get up to speed.
How do you use an external chat?
What bonuses can you get?
What makes you noticed and included in something real? I want to fold for a purpos, so I want to know how.
A couple more that just came up.
What does it mean to assign a feedback topic?
Is there an esier way to change the Case info on a topic besides making a post to it?
see here http://foldit.wikia.com/wiki/Fold.it_IRC_(chat)_Information
for feedback see here http://fold.it/portal/node/991626
That link dosen't have anything and the topic I already saw, and doesn't answer my questions.
the wiki and the foldit blog.
The answers to all your questions are there
Anyone know about assigning or bonuses?
You might want to elaborate on that question.
What exactly are you asking?
It says exactly what I am looking for in the first post.
I have no idea what you mean by "assigning", and there are no bonuses.
You get points for your solution when the puzzle closes.
There is a column in on the feedback page that says "assigned by", then a username. As for the bonuses, then why does it say "there are no bonuses or conditions" at the top of a puzzle.
In fedback "assigned" means who from Foldit team is handling this case.
In puzzle some puzzle need move specyfic region, close cutpoints, make bonds etc. - this is condition you have fulfill to your score count at all. Most of puzzles have no conditions/bonuses and whatever you do score counts.
Okay, I think I get what you're saying...
* The "Assigned" tag on feedback posts is used internally by the foldit team to determine which admin would be responsible for resolving the issue.
* As for "no bonuses or conditions"... that's referring to special conditions that could be applied to a puzzle. For example, if you play in evolver mode, there would be a score cutoff condition; you would have to go above a certain score for the solution to count. Another example is the case of cut points-- you have to remove them for the solution to count. Some puzzles might come with bonus scores for the type of interactions that the researchers are looking for; one possibility might be a hydrogen bond at a specific location.
One last thing. Do the bonuses show at start, or once you complete them? Are there any active now? Are there any upcoming challenges with them?
Most puzzles have no bonuses or conditions by default. So, if there's one, you should be able to see it from the very beginning (at worst, the program would simply say that the bonus/condition isn't met). The only exceptions are evolver and cut point conditions, which are only triggered later when it's relevant to the situation.
Perfect. Thats all I have for now. Thanks!
