This is the same problem as http://fold.it/portal/node/990241

However hard I try I cannot get the latest update to download.

I have tried everything (switching from beta to main, dowloading the client again, switching browsers, switching directories) and it freezes every time.

The fault is not at this end.

At present I have no way of using foldit.

There is something wrong with the download server at your end as everything else I download from and upload to the internet works just fine.

Could someone email me the latest update files and I will install them manually to the foldit folder.

Thanks

If it helps :

The first file it is trying to download is the one that freezes

cmp-binary-win_x86-fd8ddea6b0cadc153ae6da2e945b5578.zip

at 4,694,016 bytes (same every time, 4584 x 1024 bytes)

After the freeze, I close the client and a new file "startup" is written to the foldit directory which is 0 bytes in length.

If I restart foldit, it does not tell me that foldit did not start properly last time.

I have just tried using a laptop, which has windows 7 operating system.

Once again the update has frozen, albeit this time at a different point in the download.

The only thing that is consistent between my PC and the laptop is the internet connection, so the fault has to be somewhere in the data transfer, and not in the computers themselves.

Any thoughts ?

I have just switched onto another internet provider, and the update worked fine !

Sorry for all the posts, but this does not make sense to me. Any thoughts (other than the obvious that my ISP is no good) ?
