Hello everybody,
I have a linux system (openSuSE 11.3, 64bit) after updating from 11.2 (32 bit) to 11.3 (64 bit) Foldit broke. I downloaded the current version and tried different things:
1. Move the old Foldit directory to Foldit_old and untar the new version.
2. Install the new version over the old version.
In both cases I got a problem with my username not appearing and the input field being ghosted, which I solved by clicking one of the selection buttons.
When I tried to connect though in case (1) it showed that I have done only three tutorials, and when i clicked the 4th, it crashed.
In case (2) I get the error message depicted in the attached screenshot and the program finishes. What can I do to get it running again?
Best regards,
George

I checked for each of the libs, there are 32/64 bit versions installed for all of them. I have the 32bit compatibility layer installed, so I do not think it is due to a 32/64 bit issue.

How did you search? By browsing to forum Entries? Is there a search function I have missed?

I have installed Foldit under /usr/local/games as user root:
drwxr-xr-x 9 root root 4096 Jan 8 21:21 Foldit
Now, under the root account it works. under a normal user not. So the question becomes: Do I have to grant write access to the Foldit directory (and the ones bellow) to everybody?

George
Havent any permissions problems on my test in ubuntu, installed in user home directory. Only "trick" was start from console.
I found:
"ia32-libs"
Q: I am using a 64-bit Linux distribution and am unable to log in or contact the server in any way, I have tried many times and keep getting error messages.
A: You may need to install lib32nss-mdns. Please search for it in your package manager.
"needed freeglut.i686 installed too, not just the x86_64 version"
Required RPM's
For Fedora 13 x86_64, I needed the following i386 RPM's:
alsa-lib
expat
freeglut
glibc
libselinux
libX11
libXau
libXdamage
libXext
libXfixes
libXi
libXxf86vm
libdrm
libgcc
libstdc
libxcb
mesa-dri-drivers
mesa-libGL
mesa-libGLU
nss-mdns
Foldit client is NOT native 64 bit so it need 32 bit libraries to work.
