Whenever I try to download a recipe, my browser informs me that I must have the foldit client running in order to do so. This message appears regardless of whether the client is or isn't running. What do I need to do?
Thanks!

1. login to game, load

1. login to game, load puzzle
2. login on site
3. find recipe, press download.

If not, try another browser (never have problem on ffox)

What is your OS and what browser you using?

I've done this with both

I've done this with both Chrome and Firefox; no luck. I'm running Win7 Professional, 64 bit.

Firewalls seem to block downloads

I play the game both at home and at work (at lunch, for instance ... ;-), and have found that I cannot download a recipe when at work. I'm guessing that the port used for this communication is blocked by the firewall.

Blocking IRC ports/messages

Yes, client download recipe via IRC command from server (You click "download" on page, server sent IRC command to client, client downloading recipe from site/server. Little around huh?). So if IRC is blocked then may be problems which recipe downloads.

Hardware

Check you LAN hardware/drivers.
If you use LAN, built into your PC's motherboard, make sure your board drivers (especially LAN for board) are installed properly.
