In the recent chats, some players requested trying out a large protein and others asked for very short proteins to try out scripts with.

We have added the 611 residue CASP9 target as a Contest. The starting model is the top Rosetta Server prediction (generated using Rosetta@home).

We will not be submitting any solutions to CASP9 for this target, it is just for you to play around with.

Check it out here:

We have also added "Freestyle Design 20" a 20-residue segment that is designable so you can test out your scripts.

Create your own contest to try them out, we hope that these are useful to you!

Nice...

Good to know, as my machine@home is quite slow.

Thanks! If you have more

Thanks!
If you have more small, pre-designed proteins available, please include them. The design challenges are unsuitable for many folding scripts used in folding puzzles but a small protein means scripts run MUCH faster.

running faster...

I got an idea to make nearly all recipes run faster, especially if you are not there to view fold.it working all the time:

How?

And how can I participate in such a puzzle?

Browser

The game doesn't show any contests at the moment.

Now it appeared.
What is the magic key?

Got it!

I've found out that they appear in the internet-browser if you "host" a contest.

These tiny all-purpose-puzzles are a great help!

611 ?!

Did I read correctly that there is a puzzle with 611 residues?

611 is right!

Yes Crashguard303, that isn't a typo!
Some players asked for big proteins to test their computers (especially after the 887 residue CASP9 target was released).

Oww...

...that would kill my "mono-core"-PC ;)
If the game had a fps display, I'm sure you could take this puzzle as CPU benchmark.
I'll see what the overclocked quad of a friend will do with this :)
