I am unable to load puzzle 296 from the main menu. After starting up foldit and selecting puzzle 296 I get the message "A timeout was reached due to excessive server load. Sorry for the inconvenience, please try again later." I then try again and the whole program crashes.
This has been happening to me both before and after today's update, and I have been unable to load puzzle 296 even once since it was released.
Same here. Not only for 296, but also 295; previously also 293
I was able to load the new puzzle 297 fine, but 296 still refuses to load for me.
Still can`t load 296.
yeah... we are trying to figure out what is up with this but can't seem to reproduce this bug at all.
Puzzle 296 is a large protein with a bunch of constraints and stuff, how fast are your internet connections?
We can extend puzzle 296 for all of you until we resolve the problem if you want (or maybe we should just repost it once we find out what the problem is?)
I'm on a slowish connection over a wireless network so maybe the puzzle kept timing out before it could fully load.
I finally was just able to enter the puzzle now, but is an option/location to manually download puzzles a possibly in (future) situations like this?
My connection is 512/128 kbits/sec

One of the problems with Puzzle 296 is that it comes with a giant file that is used for pulling on the small molecule. But with the last update, pulling on the small molecule is done in a different way that doesn't require such a large file. We're planning on posting more puzzles in the Hold it! series (maybe even this one again) that shouldn't have this problem.
