My idea is fairly simple: Add a key combination (like holding down 'N') while right-clicking on a segment to get the Note Mode information for that segment. Then when you click anywhere else on the screen or protein, it would disappear.  I often find it useful to look at the Note Mode information for a particular segment (usually the bad ones, to see why the score is low and they are red), but it is a little bit cumbersome to switch back and forth from Pull Mode to Note Mode to Pull Mode to do so.

I like this suggestion, too. I wish we had this.
Thanks

I'll see if I can get this added in soon.

I stayed late last night trying to get this feature to work, but I got stuck trying to get it to come up as a tooltip. Sadly, this probably means that the feature won't come out until after the next update. But I'll see what I can do.

Good to hear it is being worked on, a great suggestion and don't worry, you can't rush perfection :)

There is no Wiki on note mode. Can the information help in puzzle solving? If so, there ought to be an explanation how, but I haven't found any. I have assumed that it is only of incidental interest to scientists.

Wow, this suggestion has been around since 2007!

"When you mouse over an amino acid an information window should give you it's current status and some suggestions as to how you could improve it."

"Can the information help in puzzle solving?"

Yes, it's basically a more detailed breakdown of the red/green coloring of the segment. I've adjusted the wording to more closely match the terms used in the game, which should clear things up a bit (clashing, packing, hiding, bonding, etc.).

It is now set up so that pressing "End" in any mode will bring up that information panel (the hotkey is in the help screen).  This should go out in the next update.

Thank you for adding this, and also a big thank you to the others who suggested the idea well before I did. I learned something from this request: search first to see if the idea has already been submitted (then add your own thoughts to the original). I wasn't trying to steal anyone's idea, we were just thinking along the same lines. The credit is all yours Phi/Xiando/(possibly others).
