The ROSETTA_CRASH.log is something that it hanging around from previous versions, and shouldn't be present for crashes from the current version of the client. (I'd recommend deleting it from your working directory, so as not to confuse future crashes.)

It's hard to tell what's the issue, but often bad_alloc crashes can be releated to memory issues. (It can also be related to memory corruption within Foldit.) Especially with a large (999 aa protein) system, the thing to rule out first is a lack of memory on your machine. Depending on what else you were running at the time and how much RAM you have, it could be that Foldit simply ran out of memory and crashed for that reason.

If you continue to have issues, please monitor RAM usage on you machine leading up to the crash and see if running out of memory may be an issue.
