resources: 4dbba30d99f867adf315f2fa3dd4bd39
database: fb137240c5d3860cd3853cc25565f8fc

OS: Windows 10 x64

Puzzle being played: 1969 Trimer

Total LWS recipe crashes the client, Banded Worm Pairs inf Filters, Walker Recipes do the trick as well.

They start running, and after some minutes the client just goes away, not leaving anything of use in its wake.

Is this a network connectivity issue?
When I play offline, the client is stable.
Only when I try to play online, this disappearing occurs.

Regards,
Sven (jausmh)

same issues on Mac. this prob has persisted for nearly 24 hours now.....it matters not which puzzle nor which recipe. our group chap also fails sporadically. It means I have not been able to play any puzzle for the last day. This is a little unfair on those affected I think.

That's really strange. Network connectivity issues should definitely not make the client crash.

Just to be clear, there is no indication from your OS that Foldit crashed or closed unexpectedly?

@jausmh, are you still experiencing this issue?

It seems to be not possible to keep a recipe going on 1972. After 5 minutes up to a quarter of an hour, the client quietly goes away.

May have to do with the Electron Cloud. But I can't be sure.

Sven

It is in the ED code. If I set the ED rendition to "none", so not visible, the client stays online at least for two hour.

SO it might be an issue with the display driver, or the openGL library.

Will let it run overnight, to see if it works.

Regards,
Sven

Hello without rendering of the electron cloud ("none") the client survived the night.

So my bug seems to be in the libraries or the calls to the libraries.

The ED rendition that crashed, was "Wireframe".

I found a way around this - but it is no fun to get a starting pose without having the electron density visible.

Cheers,
Sven (jausmh)

Same here. Current instances are crashing under Windows 10 in both Developer Preview and Main.
Crash occurrence is independent of running script. Rebuilders, Remixers crash after running for about 5 to about 30 minutes. Banders crash also, but take longer. Builds before the major IU interface redesign ran normally. Possible Buffer Overflow ???
