Foldit design paper coming soon!

On Wednesday, June 5, Nature will publish a paper describing protein design by Foldit players!

For the past six years, Foldit players have been working hard to design brand new proteins from scratch, and we're excited to finally share the results with the rest of the world! This paper marks a huge milestone for Foldit, and a significant achievement by the entire Foldit community!

A scholarly paper in Nature is a really big deal

Just in case the foldit community is not fully aware of the significance of publishing in Nature, here are some Googled facts about Nature:

"Nature is part of a publishing group with many other leading, high-impact factor journals with the Nature brand. Yes, definitely "a" reputable international science journal...if not THE most reputable of all multidisciplinary science journals."

"The 2017 journal metrics for Nature are as follows: 2-year Impact Factor: 41.577. 5-year Impact Factor: 44.958

"The higher the impact factor, the more highly ranked the journal. It is one tool you can use to compare journals in a subject category. ... The top 5% of journals have impact factors approximately equal to or greater than 6 (553 journals or 4.6% of the journals tracked by JCR).

Thank you authors for investing your time and energy in this effort. And it may be said, well done everyone.

Congratulations to the community! But with the advent of a strong artificial intelligence, which already beats experienced players in other games, the problem of calculating voids in a protein will be finally solved, and this means that a ready-made protein operating system will soon be there, and a safe programmable nature (DNA, rna, protein) and all chemical reactions.
