Note: This crashing appears to be specific to loading solutions that are band-heavy — >50 or so bands. No crash when loading solutions without bands.
I know that the solution that crashed was definitely heavily banded. This morning I tried loading it with all options unchecked in the view menu, and not showing side chains, and it loaded. Thanks for the tip, it got me thinking.

It can be helpful, immediately after a crash, to make a copy of the log.txt file before starting another foldit client. Attach the copy to the feedback. It doesn't always have an error message in it, but sometimes it does.
Actiasluna, were you changing from a track with more segments to one with less segments?
Nope, this was two days prior to any deletion of segments.
But I had another solution crash on clicking delete.
I had real fun with this puzzle <-or perhaps not as much fun as I would have preferred.
(btw I have to attach my crash logs through google docs as foldit doesn't recognize my .txt files and won't paste or attach them... thus the links above below my posts, those are the crash log texts.)
If you edit or create a .txt file using the Mac's default editor, it may save it as something other than plain text (despite the .txt file name - Apple has decided they don't have to abide by that convention any more). This might explain why the web server rejects your .txt files. It might work if you use a different editor, or find the option in the default editor that actually saves as plain text.
Similar problem, I think - 1269 is crashing on loading new solution.
Happened twice in a row; log links:
