It may be necessary for the field of biochemistry to reclassify the meanings of Alpha- and Beta- protein structures to mean stability and/or complexity, instead of the most regular or likely structure to form. Using this definition it can be readily seen and understand that Beta structures require more environmental variables to be satisfied before they can form, and therefore (in folding-prediction models) should be examined, first.
