On the page http://foldit.wikia.com/wiki/Foldit_Wiki are various sections like "Strategy", "The Science", and "The Game". Would someone who regularly edits the Wiki put tags on these sections so we can link directly to them in Chat, for example? Also, is it possible to put a "Contents" section at the top of such a long page with the names of each of its main sections listed?

Thanks!

Good suggestions jeff I'm hoping to get some tidying up done on the wiki over the Christmas break, better navigation and tagging are on the priority list.

One thing I dislike about the Foldit wiki is how slowly its pages load.
I think this is from all the ad animations on each page. Does anyone
know how to disable the ad animations in web browsers like Internet
Explorer or Google Chrome so the Foldit wiki pages will load and
scroll more quickly? Can the University of Washington et al pay
the site hosting the Foldit wiki so its ads aren't necessary?

Thanks!

In Firefox, I have Flash set to "ask to enable". This helps a lot. I also have "NoScript" installed that makes wikia very easy to use (but no editting). Finally, if you can get past the first page, the ads go away if you log in (for editting).

I use the Adblock Plus plug-in, mainly in Firefox, and see very few ads. There are versions for Chrome and Internet Explorer as well. It's free, but they do suggest a donation.

Register and log in to remove most of the ads - the wiki was set up by players not UW.

And indeed we are grateful for all the hard work that has been done by the community to keep the wiki updated and relevant!

Someone asked if the Foldit wiki had an index, so I looked around.
Most pages let you search the wiki, and the page below seems like an index:

That link is on the bottom of the home page

Categories are a dynamic way to provide a list of pages but require some effort

Also if you are putting links on pages anywhere on the wiki please be aware that using 'click here' and 'here' has been deprecated since the last century and still is, for reasons too numerous to mention in this post.

It's an interesting suggestion, certainly, and thoughts to be mindful of when generating content! Thanks for the link!
