Overwhelming Response

Thanks to our folders all over the world, our site is slowing down. Please be patient if you can't log in at first. It may take a few tries to get into the game. In the meantime, we will post an update today which should make the experience much smoother for all of you.

Taking Flight

Thanks to all you wonderful protein folders, we had a successful launch today with tons of great press. We even survived the Slashdot Effect! The team posts automatic updates very often, so keep playing and expect to see some awesome new features over the next couple weeks. Thank you for playing Foldit. Now let's solve some puzzles for science!

Linux Version

There have been a lot of requests for a Linux version, and we can post one if we come up with a simple binary delivery method across all distributions. Any thoughts? Post them in the comments.

In the mean time, some enterprising players have successfully used WINE to play the game. If you are having trouble selecting the protein in WINE, make sure you are using 24 bit color depth. This is an issue that we should be able to fix very soon.
