Introducing: Foldit Lab Reports!
We're excited to introduce Foldit Lab Reports, a monthly video series with bkoep and others on the Foldit team!
The purpose of this series is to share more with Foldit players about what happens behind the scenes of Foldit. The videos are meant to provide brief, informal summaries of recent activity in Foldit and in the lab. Although they may not be as informative and detailed as some of our blog posts, we hope they will stimulate more discussion, and we encourage players to ask questions and leave comments on the website!

Aflatoxin Challenge returns!
Help us redesign an enzyme to degrade aflatoxin, a dangerous carcinogen that contaminates much of the world's food supply! After an interval of lab testing by the Siegel Lab at UC Davis, we're back with a brand new strategy for breaking down aflatoxin, and we need Foldit players' help!0 comments)
Did you play a cryo-EM puzzle last year?
We're preparing a research article about Foldit players' recent work on electron density puzzles!
As usual, participating Foldit players can opt to be included as authors on the paper.
We have emailed instructions to all players who played the following puzzles:
Puzzle 1572: https://fold.it/portal/node/2005691
Puzzle 1588: https://fold.it/portal/node/2006093
Puzzle 1598: https://fold.it/portal/node/2006204
Puzzle 1606: https://fold.it/portal/node/2006275
If you played one of these puzzles and did not receive an email from our foldit.publications gmail address, please PM beta_helix as soon as possible!
UPDATE: Final deadline for this is Tuesday October 1st!(Sat, 09/21/2019 - 16:55 | 0 comments)
After a long delay, everything should be back up!
The data import took longer than expected, but everything should be working now for current puzzles, so let us know if you see anything behaving strangely. Solutions from older puzzles may not be working quite yet.
Apologies for the missing downtime page - we were having issues getting it to display properly.(Wed, 09/04/2019 - 08:55 | 3 comments)
We will be having some server downtime later today at 22:00 GMT to switch our hosting provider. The downtime should last for a few hours. During that time, the website will be unavailable and you may not be able to log in on the Foldit client. Chat should remain working.(Tue, 09/03/2019 - 19:15 | 3 comments)
