Foldit Annual Surveys

It's the best time of the year - it's survey time! The first survey we're launching will run to September 7, and addresses thoughts about puzzles. Strangely enough, these surveys look almost like the ones we ran last year, but that helps us look at the trends over time. All replies are anonymous, so feel free to share your thoughts with us.

We take the results of our puzzle survey into high consideration when planning our schedules, so the more input we get, the more informed decisions we can make.

Are there any more?

Are you going to be taking surveys on other topics too? This one was quite short.

It's entirely possible, although we don't like to overburden the community with too many surveys, so there is that to keep in mind. :) Of course, my message box is open any time, and we encourage thoughtful, constructive conversation over on our forums, especially if a question on the survey has sparked any particular interest in "drilling down" into specifics.

Thanks for the input!

Problem with survey

I couldn't rank perceived time correctly on the survey. I might try something time consuming if I have time while that puzzle is open. But I can't always control my schedule
The survey was too simple to understand what and how I decide what to play if that was the goal. I'd love to help you with a survey that might help better understand player motives and how to perhaps align them with FoldIt's scientific goals. I used to write questionnaires back in my younger days.

Thanks for the feedback!

We know that not every question can be in depth as our respondents wish to answer sometimes (or in the case of our demographic survey, cover every possible hybrid of options needed) - perhaps next year we'll include a text box for some additional comments. We'll see. Good food for thought though. :)
