This group has been created for the 4th year PBC and CCZU students participating in the CH415 advanced lab in computational chemistry.

In this lab you will learn how to fold proteins with Fold-it by going through 38 introductory puzzles. In each of these puzzles you will learn how to use different 'tools' that will allow you to reach the target fold. Some puzzles may seem very easy other ones very difficult. In the latter case, if you find yourself stuck, just hit 'reset' and start again, the solution is always much easier (achievable in very few 'moves') than you think.

As you go through the puzzles keep an eye on your lab notes to answer the questions as you go.

Foldit is a revolutionary new game, in which you play to solve puzzles, and we test your solutions to work on curing cancer, AIDS, and a host of diseases.

in the process, YOU learn about how amino acids dictate how proteins fold and how the backbone interactions adn R group interactions dictate structure. Since protein structure dictates function we can learn about how alterations in structure affect protein function - thus start to understand what causes diseases and more importantly, how to cure them.
