My frequent crashes are getting to the point where folding is (almost) not fun anymore. I have a Mac 2.8 Ghz Intel Core i7 with 8 Gb memory, running 10.6.4.
I've always had crashing problems but since the Nature paper was published, they have increased. I've never been able to run a rebuilder script all the way through (public or group), and there are other scripts that will always crash foldit for me - Doom2 for one, any of the OSQ scripts.
It's been something that I could live with until the past few days. I crash multiple times a day no matter what script I'm running - even some of the small things that I've written for myself with the cookbook to automate 4-5 moves.
I've crashed at least 6 times today & it's only early afternoon. What's puzzling is that I now crash occasionally and the program just closes, without the popup that tells me that it has crashed.
I have kept a selection of log files, but do not know how to upload them to you - they seem way too long to just copy & paste. I'd be happy to upload however you want.
I know that I'm not the only Mac person with these problems - one other person in our group uses a Mac, and has also said that he crashes frequently. And it's not just this machine - I have a slightly older Mac that I use when I'm out of state (frequently) and I have the same problems on that one, also.
