flashing disk image location?

Hi, there is a white, disc-shaped object that occasionally pops up when (presumably) the server snags data, or just as some form of effect.

Anyway, for me, it is discomforting, in that it produces a physiological affect similar to the things on computer games that forced mfg's to add warnings about epileptic shock.

So…I'd like to replace the object with a transparent image, but I do not know where you store the image in question or what it's file name is.

Can you please provide that information so I can avoid the effect it produces?

I'm not sure what you're referring to exactly, but there is an annoying white disc (with center hole) that flashes in the center of the screen. Generally, I only see it when voids are enabled, and maybe more often in ED puzzles. I usually play with voids off, because of the void-minimized window bug, and I usually don't see it. I thought it was an oddity in the void drawing algorithm and not an icon.

That's the one, and no, it's no an anomaly. I gave rarely used void view, but it pops up all the time.

If you guys could get a screenshot (or if you take a video and grab a frame) that would be great. I've never seen this issue, so seeing exactly what's happening would help.

Could you explain what you do to get this to show up? Is it just when running scripts, when running a wiggle, or even when you're just idling?

Are you all running Windows?

If you are responsible for maintaining the code, you should know what I'm talking about. It is a white disk with a hole in it, just as brow42 described.

Playing is enough to generate them. They generally occur during wiggle.

Are you all running Windows?

I don't know what "all of us" are running, but I am.

I don't want you to change the code, I just want the filename in question so I can replace it with something less "hostile" on my local machine. And it IS hostile.

@xiando:

Is that windows 7?

I run win7 pro and never seen that white disk (with hole or not). Please provide more information like "View Options" settings. Again a screen capture or small video would be great.

It was noted before

I have seen this for time to time, very few time recently. I run win7.

Xiando :
1 - you could have add new comments to your feedback or the first instead of open a new one.

2 - High priority is for situation in nobody can play foldit. You are the only one to complain now so it is not a major problem to play Foldit.

3 - If you don't take the time to describe the problem, it will just be more hard to solve it. Every one that has to maintain a code know that it is not easy to find a bug.

I'd like the filename so I can resolve this. It's not a glitch, it's clearly an image file being displayed.

Marie, if you'd bothered to read my reply to tamirh, you'd see I described it.

We're just asking for more clarification because it's not an issue on every computer (I've never seen it on any of the machines we build on, or my personal machine). So any extra info you can give would help in reproducing the problem so we can figure out what's wrong. There are no images that should be popping up in the middle of the screen during game play. There are no images that are just white discs.

Do any of these look like what you are seeing (perhaps without the color and only white/transparent?)

None of those should be coming up during game play, but they were the closest images I could find that look at all like what you are describing. You can look yourself by searching for *.png in your Foldit folder.

Have you tried to update you video card drivers? Does it happen on any other computers you have access to? Have you tried to do a clean install of Foldit?
