In new puzzle 716: Two chains of Insulin Mutant I have a share "5/21 K56Z solo created by devprev" with score 8858. This has been shared with "Scientists". When "main" folders phi16 and auntdeen tried to load these for evo they got a message "error" and failed to load.

This is a result of a change to the solution format that had to happen to address a bug where evolvers sometimes had to evolver higher scores than they should have. You will be temporarily unable to share between devprev/main while this fix is only in devprev.

Letting us know in advance would have been good…

Otherwise we would of course assume it's a bug, especially in conjunction with the team room bug.

This is really putting a cramp in our team's evo efforts. If we'd known it was coming we could have switched to main rather than allow the update, so our solutions could be used by our teammates. I tried switching to main, changing the puzzle a bit, re-saving and re-sharing, but my teammates who stayed in main still can;t open my share :(

I agree that warning was needed here - I usually try to make note of these things, but I wasn't aware that this release in particular would cause this problem. Sorry about that - we'll try to remember in the future.

I have said this before.
Please when changing save/share formats FIRST release a version that can read BOTH formats but still writes the old. And only then release the format change to devprev.
With this kind of bug in devprev a lot less testing of devprev will be done as most people who do devprev testing want to be able to share with their group.

You make a very good point about the file formats, Timo. I definitely want to make sure that the people who are volunteering their time in devprev are able to benefit from a fluid workflow. I'm so sorry this has been impacting your group too, Susume.

Big apologies go all around for the goof on our part. It was completely unintentional and we'll make sure to be extra diligent about this in the future.
