Puzzle 1311 and 1312 Update

Hello everyone,

We are sorry that puzzle 1311 is causing some clients to crash. It has been mentioned by Susume that setting the graph memory usage to less than 100% might solve crashes.

However, given that the puzzle crashes randomly for some people, we have decided to release a monomer version of puzzle 1311. We will use both answers from 1311 and 1312 to help resolve phase data. We want everyone to get a chance to play the puzzle and this is one solution.

Tuberculosis Challenge – Alternate Target Update

Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease that affects millions of people. We have posted a protein drug target puzzle previously on this topic. In our continued effort to make a dent in this disease, we have also partnered with the Sacchettini lab at Texas A&M University to post another drug target puzzle for TB. While we originally had a puzzle posted yesterday, this puzzle will be updated and reposted as soon as possible. Sorry for the delay.

Server Downtime - The Move to Amazon!

Hey everyone, we have some exciting news - we are moving our servers to Amazon!

We took steps earlier this year to try and minimize the downtime from this move, but it looks like we are going to need more.

We've scheduled the move for next Wednesday, November 16th at 3 PM PST (11 PM GMT). All puzzles will end at this time, and we'll be down for 24-48 hours, depending on any issues.

New Release!

Hey everyone,

We're releasing a new client today with an exciting new feature - the Blueprint Tool!

You can read about this tool in the following blog post:


This tool should make it easier than ever to create scientifically realistic designs. We're very excited to see how this compares to traditional design puzzles, which we will continue to run.

We understand from tester feedback that there are some usability issues with the tool currently, and we're working hard to resolve these soon. Keep an eye out for a devprev release!

Developer Preview Release Soon

Hey everyone!

We'll be pushing out another update to the developer preview soon with an exciting new feature - the Blueprint Tool!

This tool allows you drag-and-drop different building blocks (such as secondary structure and ABEGO loops) onto your sequence, making it very easy to create new designs out of known ideal fragments.

Here is a demonstration of some of the features:
