Replied in IRC already but wanted the reply to be more visible. The issue is currently being worked on, hopefully a fix will be done soon.
This doesn't appear to happen except on recently opened clients. The one I opened this morning behaves as alcor29 describes. It isn't clear whether or not the score on these clients are being updated to the server.
