When pulling a segment with a cutpoint, the only direction it will move is toward its cut neighbor, to turn the cut yellow, even though cut bands are disabled and are not supposed to be pulling.
Puzzle 838, shared solution "838 s1 before banding" with scientists. Segs 100 and 101 are marked with gray bands. Disable cut bands, and try to pull either of those segs away from the other. The only way either one will move, regardless which way you pull, is to jump to where the cut turns yellow. The same is true of segs 157/158 and 127/128 - the only way they would move when tugged was together, turning the cuts yellow, even though I had cut bands disabled. Now they can't be tugged apart to move them to a new position.
Win 7 64, devprev (Jan 27 production release of newchapter)
Just to confirm its not just one puzzle - I'm getting the same thing on #840
It means that it is almost impossible to manually position pieces once you have used the Move tool to place it roughly in the right place.
Same observation here. on 840.
Hey Bletchley, thanks for the feedback. This should be fixed in the current devprev build.
Will the behavior be kept as is when enable cut bands is checked? I didn't notice the behavior when it was unchecked, but actually like the feature when checked as it makes it easier to position the segments so that the cut point turns yellow.
Yes. That behavior should still be accurate.
This is a bug for game tools, not a suggestion.
