The more information that the website holds, the more we need to be able to search centrally, not just section by section.
The feedback search is fine so far as it goes, but searching "timeout", "timeouts", "time out", and "time outs" will give you different results, although you may be looking for the same thing - the search is too narrow. This is one reason why we keep getting duplicate suggestions.
Boots has asked in this feedback http://fold.it/portal/node/988453 that you add a search for the blog and the forum. I suggest that we need an all site search instead, which will parse the spaces and the plurals a little better.
Many people are savvy enough to be able to do that on their own by going to Google and typing in "site:fold.it" with the search word they want after that. However, it would be relatively easy to add that functionality to the foldit front page (and perhaps all pages with the "Get Started, Recommend, etc sidebar on the right) by just adding an iframe or javascript to the sidebar that would do that google website search. There are many free ones available on the web, but I'm sure that our intrepid devs can whip one up quickly :-)
Auntdeen, that is a good idea, i'll try this and let you know what that result will looks like.
Thanks,

Let us know if this works for you or not.
Yes!!!
That does search across the entire website... the blog, the developer chat transcripts, the puzzle comments, feedback, forum...
Thanks very much for this - looking forward to having it in the normal website :-)
