| Description: | This is the sequence for the attachment protein (G) of a relatively virulent strain of HRSV. RSV is an important pathogen in children and the elderly, and the only current treatment option is an expensive prophylactic antibody. There is not vaccine and vaccine development for RSV has been problematic. There is still debate over the function of G, and what it might be attaching to. Only a small portion of the protein has been crystallized. I'm interested to see if a reasonable model can be made here. I have little confidence in the current models. |
