Looks like there is majority of windows installer issues.
Maybe change default installation directory to c:\games\foldit\ or similar? Installing in "program files" sometimes makes security issues...

Doesn't the new (beta/dev) installer do this?

I have been advised that I have the ''old'' installer - as I cannot access the all.macro file.
I am quite unsure about how to rectify this particularly as uninstalling and reinstalling would suggest that I would loose all of my puzzles and points.

I don't care where foldit is installed as long as it works properly. Windows 7 64 bit OS - foldit is currently in (x86) folder. I run with admin permissions on.
Would someone please advise as to the optimal location, and instruction on what to do if I need to move files around. I tend to assume that new things will be automatically downloaded. Thanks

Old windows installer puts exe file in "program files" foldit directory and all data in "users\your name\appdata\roaming\" foldit directory (win7).
New windows installer (if you downloaded fresh install from site - not via automagic updates) put all files in one directory - by default in "program files" foldit directory.

Just:
- find both foldit directory,
- back them up,
- load new installer,
- install where you want,
- do NOT run game,
- copy backups into that directory w/o overwriting
- run game
It will update and clean itself, all your puzzle and scripts should be safe :)
You can delete old foldit directories and backups.
