What is the process for changing the manager of a group?
The Void Crushers creator and manager no longer plays and is not coming back.
We have chosen Mike Cassidy to be the new Group Manager but whilst we are able to create admins etc we are not able to change the manager.
It is also not clear where any email sent to the group is going, including requests to join.
Please assist
thanks spmm
There must be a process to change the group manager, the manager in this case didn't make any communication to foldit, porbably wasn't on their list of priorities at the time.
Easy enough for all current and active admins to indicate their agreement with the change.
Starting a new team is not a viable option.
scratching my head
It's true that there are one or two things only a manager can do, but when it comes to day to day functioning any admin can take care of things. I can see Nina, gla, Mike, Madde and yourself are all admin grade, and nina gla and madde are inactive, but if you go to your foldit page, click MyGroup, then Manage Group, you'll see any current pending applications, but also you can upgrade any other team-mate up to admin status. You might also think about having a couple of you set up IRC specific accounts, so you can take care of channel unbanning etc through an IRC client like Chatzilla or mibbit.
We had a similar situation when our founder was away, but as long as you have a couple of active players with admin level access, it shouldnt be a problem

this is an issue that has been brought up before and should be resolved ASAP, thanks for the reminder.
I just checked the chat-channel #voidcrushers, I believe MikeCassidy is the admin (100 MikeCassidy) of the channel ( and admin of this group ).
I will try to contact Nina on Facebook; we yearly message each other.
However there should be some clean way to do this change.
thanks kxu much appreciated by all in the Void Crushers

I would think that the group/team originator/manager would need to communicate to the project admins directly that he/she no longer wants to be the creator/manager.
Otherwise, anyone can say they want to take over any group/team and immediately disband it.
Another option would be to start a new team, and all the surviving and active members of the old team could move.
