Ok, I have several issues, but the most immediate problem is that on one of the computers I use I can't play puzzle #196. This is part of the larger sets of problems I have, but the immediate issue is that for my home system when I try to load Puzzle #196 I get the following error: Unknown Filter Type: RMSD2.

Now this highlights a general problem I've been having: when I ran FoldIt on my work computer it kicked off an update and I was able to run puzzle #196, but on my home computer it did not seem to run an update. I'm guessing this is the problem, and I have had this issue before, but then after a few days the problem goes away, but I have no idea why.

1st question: Is there a way to force an update?

But that's not the only weirdness - on my home computer, I can chat with anyone, puzzle, or group. However, on my work computer I don't see any of the chat feeds being populated, it doesn't seem to be able to have any chat capability.

2nd question: Why can't I chat? Is there some global switch? None of the obvious controls work. This is after the app has been updated several times, same issue always. It possibly could be a workplace policy issue, if so, how could I check?

Yes, the error starting the puzzle is most likely due to the game not updating. Can you post a log the next time a machine doesn't update?

Old puzzle. Closing case.
