The upload is broken for a few weeks already. Sometimes it works, but mostly not. Seems to get worse.
There is only an error message of excessing server load.

Very interesting. It has nothing to do with server load, as our server load is consistently low. However, it might have to do with the other network issues the client has been having. We'll look into it.
How often do you see this problem? In what proportion of your screenshot postings do you fail? Do you get this problem just after having opened Foldit, or only after long sessions of playing?
it started with about 50% failure. It started shortly after the last issue with the screen upload. Then it got better, than wordse again. Since a few weeks it never works.

Observation
When I click the capture and upload screenshot button (camera icon), foldit freeze up for about 30 seconds.

This screenshot is from the 19/5/09 and it had been broken for sometime before that for me.
