Hi, if you are Gay or Lesbian and are not in a team yet, join the Richard Dawkins Foundation Group Team.

If you are already in a team that isn't so cool or have people stuck with old beliefs and ideals, make a change for the better.

Regards,

Aotearoa.

What does Richard Dawkins Foundation have to do with sexual orientation?

most likely nothing

It's just one more of Ao's "join my group" actions.

btw Ao: your post could be considered offensive to all "normal" people. It doesn't interest me the tiniest bit if you like man, woman, both, one or ten at a time. But that I'm "normal" doesn't mean that I'm uncool or stuck with old beliefs and ideals. Whatever this is, since its changing and changing and changing... That reminds me, "gay is the best type of love" is old greek belief and ideal.

Sorry about the spam, I went

Sorry about the spam, I went through the recent forum posts and tried to remove what I found.

LennStar: It is both accurate

LennStar: It is both accurate and adorable that you put the word "normal" in quotes.

Aot is recruiting for his team. He does not equate heterosexuality and old beliefs/uncoolness. The invitation is no more offensive than one inviting creationist folders to join a team where they won't be hassled by scientists, Moslems, and wiccans. Methinks thou dost project too much.

That could be a problem

You will be excluding anyone who needs to ask for help installing the game or getting started in the tutorials.

What about using the reCAPTCHA product?

Brick, I think they were just

Brick, I think they were just saying that new people would not be able to post links. Not that they would not be able to post AT ALL.

It seems to me like an acceptable solution. Are there any particular reasons that new players who needed help would be posting links, anyway?

The whole thing is OT

This side discussion is pretty well OFF TOPIC from the original thread title, and should probably be moved to it's own thread.

stopping SPAM

@Madde:
Good idea to prevent spam!
Those spam-accounts really don't seem to have solved a puzzle!

Maybe, an extra open "forum" or "feedback" section would be a solution for people, who haven't played the game (because they had problems with getting it to run) or don't have made some steps.
In addition, visitors could post in this part, too.
And in this account- and score-free-section, upolading links or files should be forbidden.

@Brick:
You are right, the anti-spam-discussion belongs to another thread.

It's all about links

Yes, themarquis got it right, it's all about posting links. And I would also forbid links in profiles until one got at least "Baby Steps". Here's a negative example: http://fold.it/portal/user/124544

Captchas are already implemented but they're useless when real people post spam. Nevertheless I agree with Brick that we should think about replacing them with ReCaptcha.

We used to have ReCaptcha,

We used to have ReCaptcha, but the spammers (remarkably enough) seemed to have cracked it a few months back. That's why we switched to the primitive captchas we have now, which they haven't broken (perhaps they think it's too easy).
