Program crashes repeatedly, at startup during puzzle loading, or if it loads ok, then it crashes shortly thereafter in the first action (e.g., wiggle) or even if I don't do anything and let it sit.
I've seen it crash 5-10 times in a row before giving up.
This is on Windows XP.

From the last crash, from the foldit log, which probably doesn't help much.

UNHANDLED EXCEPTION
1: DllMain +244978 bytes (no line)
  2: no symbol (no line)

Earlier up in the log, there's a "device failure", which may not help either.

core.init: NOTICE: rng device failure, using time as seed
core.init: 'Time' seed mode, seed=1238640114 seed_offset=0 real_seed=1689532752
core.init.random: RandomGenerator:init: Normal mode, seed=1689532752 RG_type=mt19937

Unfortunately, I have been unable to get the program to run since April 2nd.

It crashes when clicking on the "Science Puzzles" option in the menu.
Or it crashes while loading one of the E-Coli puzzles.

The evening of the 6th, it did the update, but that didn't resolve the crashing, and it crashed several times subsequent to the update.

If there is something I can do to help w/ this, please let me know.

Kinda bummed that it doesn't work.

I'm seeing the same thing (on Mac). It crashes when I try and load the E.Coli puzzle (135) but not when I load 131, the Grand Challenge puzzle.

Have you tried disabling hardware acceleration?  The instructions are in the FAQ under troubleshooting.

It sounds like this has been fixed then. Please reopen if it is still an issue.
