This ought to be an easy one.  I'd like more history.  I often lose rebuilds when they scroll off the left side of the history.  Very easy to extend the length of the history, I'd think.

If you wanted to get fancy, have multiple histories.  Each twitch of the rebuild tool could start a new line of history.  Then I could easily move back and forth between them, instead of the current situation where if I think a new rebuild has promise, I have to save it before trying other rebuilds.  Of course, need a way to close out a history.  I don't know how many histories would be good to have.  5?  8?

Right now what I do is let the rebuild tool produce 5 to 10 rebuilds, then I wiggle and band and massage each one, in reverse order, to see how far it gets.  As soon as I give up on, say, the 10th and move to the 9th, the history throws away everything I tried on the 10th.

I would like to second this request. There is a slider already on the GUI beneath the history window. Perhaps a settings option something like:

Maximum amount of memory to use for history

with a pair of arrows (up/down) and settings such as: 2MB, 4MB, 8MB, 16MB, 32MB, 64MB, 128MB, 256MB....

that would then dictate how much history a person can save, and would be adjustable for users based on the amount of system memory they have available.
The default could be small, and about equal to what is currently set.

I had suggested similar ideas concerning the history and rebuilding here.

While more memory is being used to log the movements, could you also please include a list of amino acids that have been moved from the beginning of the fold to the shape we get it in, to start with, as each sidechain movement is important to know to ensure the best possible end result, also I am noticing patterns forming with movement of certian sidechains from before the first wiggle, or shake we normally do.

ie. Log: the Letter/Number of each sidechain that has changed or moved in sequence, even if not made by hand, but the natural chain of occurance.

this will also help when making two rebuilds at a time, with a guide to which areas effect each others backbone area directly when in a certian shape. When that feature is enabled. the effect of one side of the protein is sometimes in a surrounding area or on the compleate other side of it.

Hope that makes some kind of sense.

Thanks.
