When loading a downloaded puzzle, the score of the puzzle is not saved. You have to reload the puzzle or undo if your actions doesn't increase the score. Using the best autosave hotkey would be easier.

the current method is used to stop people from achieving evolver status they themselves did not earn. It was implemented in te last major update to avoid a problem that had accidently crept into foldit thru the evolver scoring and restore-best.
it's a pain but there it is.
