Description: This is another protein designed by Foldit players! We've been able to purify and crystallize this protein, which was designed by tokens in Puzzle 1313. The protein crystal diffracts x-rays to a resolution of 1.9 Å, and we've been able to derive an electron density map for the crystal. We think we have a pretty good idea of this protein's structure from the electron density, but some data analysis suggests our model could be improved. We want to know if Foldit players can build a better model into the electron density!

In the crystal, this protein comes together in two unique orientations. This is one half of the electron density map, with the protein in the first orientation. In a followup puzzle, we'll ask players to model the second orientation into the other half of the map. In Puzzle 1452 we challenged players to predict the structure of this protein from sequence alone. Players may load in solutions from Puzzle 1452 to see how well their predictions fit in the electron density map.
