Good Results for Baker Lab Investigation Puzzles

Some of you may remember a few weeks back, it was mentioned that the Baker Lab was looking into a new issue for Foldit players to work on. The puzzles that have been posted over the past few weeks have been related to this new issue, and we thought you might like to know that after analyzing some of the solutions you have come up with, we have seen some very good results. Over the next week, we plan to add some new intro puzzle levels and new tools to assist you in identifying and resolving the issues we are looking at. We're looking forward to seeing the solutions you make when we add these new tools to the game.

Upgrade woes

We installed a security update for our software platform, Drupal, this afternoon. The update broke compability in many ways, so for a few hours now, various parts of the site have been re-appearing after the incompabilities broke them. We have just completed the upgrade process and hope to be running smoothly again. As usual, if you notice something wrong, please do post about it on the forums (which were incidentally also down for a while).

Trouble logging in?

If you are having trouble logging in, please make sure you don't skip the update procedure, even if you have just downloaded the game. Several users reported problems logging in after downloading the application, but they had also skipped the first update.

Old duels will be expired

From now on, all duels and pending duel invitations that have not seen any activity for two days will be automatically ended. If only one party has moved, the result will be in his favour.

And in keeping with this policy, some 300-odd old duels have been settled.

New Issue Baker Lab is Investigating

Hello Folders,

As some of you may have noticed, there are some unique puzzles that have been put out this week.  These puzzles relate to a particular set of issues the Baker Lab is investigating, where we feel that human intuition and folding skill can be very useful in enhancing the quality of the final protein structure.  We plan to be posting more of these types of puzzles in the upcoming weeks.  We look forward to seeing the results our community of players creates.
