Complete "intro puzzles" until you get to the 6th one, "2-3 Wiggle!”. Take a screen shot/pic and upload your score as Q9 submission to iLearn by Fri, Dec 1st 5pm. Failure to submit by 5pm will cause hives. Your score: ["2-3 Wiggle!" score/target score] x 10 = Q9 score...rounded up to next whole number. Ex above: [8638/8600] x 10 = 10.04418604651163 = 11 is the Q9 score

Welcome young scientists!

You are now part of a new approach to solving scientific puzzles. That approach is called crowd-sourcing. You are part of the crowd of people who are using their creativity, insight, intuition, and problem-solving skills to learn to predict the ideal shapes for proteins. Working together we are like a huge supercomputer. Once, Foldit players were able to help scientists solve the structure of M-PMV retroviral protease, a crucial protein in HIV, within three weeks; the same puzzle stumped scientists with traditional approaches for more than a decade.

Remember, you are working in public. The message boards are for serious, respectful, and polite discussion only.

If you enjoy Foldit, you might be able to help scientists find cures to diseases.

Let's go fold some proteins!

Rise and shine. It's 6 a.m. and your hand can't make it to the alarm clock before the voices in your head start telling that it's too early, too dar, and too cold to get out of bed. Aching muscles lie still in rebellion, pretending not to hear your brain commanding them to move. A legion of voices is shouting their unanimous permission for you to hit the snooze button and go back to dreamland. But, you didn't ask their opinion. The voice you have chosen to listen to is one of defiance. The voice that says there was a reason you set that alarm in the first place. So sit up, put your feet on the floor, and don't look back because we have work to do.
